Ive just read a review of Harvest Moon: A Wonderful life and it sounds great! If, like me you dont know what it is about then i'l explain. You are a newbie farmer that owns a plot of land in a village with a few tools. your job is to cultivate the land and make a working farm with animals, crops etc. You can explor the village and the whole thing sounds like Zelda. You have to lead the blokes life through work, play, marriage, children and you play at 6 stages of his life with alternating story lines. There are three ways through the game and (get this) it could take 300 Hours to play all three paths of the game!!!! Thats months of gaming! It sounds like a great innovation and i recon il get this as a break from reality. NGC gave it 91%. Along with Twin Snakes i should have a load to get on with. This game really sounds interesting being a working simulation, you have a house, barn, shed and even get to carry a shotgun to go for a spot of shooting or robber stopping! Roll on March!
I haven't played the GC version, but I loved the PSone version of Harvest Moon. What're the improvements? (Besides graphically)
Well Having never played a previous HM game i dont really know, but the review said the shotgun was new, along with larger stories, more things to do and a "...Near Perfect Living Breathing world of Interaction and distraction...". Theres the connectivity thingy and machinery like tractors, combines etc. It sounds quite interesting. What were the previous ones like?
Here is the latest on Wonderful life: You will be part of the drama, not just a spectator of it! You will interact with the many people around you, including your wife and son. The characters will not act in a repetitive fashion...however their actions will constantly change with the environment that you create. A variety of fruits and vegetables added to increase the quality of the game. More home extension...more tools... A new chapter system will be incorporated into the Harvest Moon series for the first time: Your life on the farm will be for 30 years, divided into 6 chapters. The story starts when you meet your future wife and begin to raise a family. Each chapter will represent different parts of your life. It will take roughly 300 hours to complete the game fully. In addition, there will be multiple endings...increasing the replay value. A new mode will be added to the game, Free Play Mode will let you play as long as you want on the farm! Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life will communicate with the new Harvest Moon title for the Game Boy Advance. By linking these two games together new events and items will become available! Review You've saved your family's farm and you've saved your homeland...now it's time to live your life! An all-new Harvest Moon adventure is coming to the Nintendo GameCube. Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life will span a lifetime on the farm and follow all the drama that goes with it. Not only must you build and successfully run a farm, but you must also build a successful life, with family and friends! I got this from Play.com
I am reading a review of it in my mag right now, since it got 95/100 I am thinking I may get it. BTW, that pile of garbage Ninja Gaiden on got 93. hahahahahaha, once again GC defeats the lamebox.
The other big differance between this and the psone version is that it is designed in an entirely 3D world. The gameboy version looks like a copy of the psone version with a few updated features
